There is always something to celebrate here.

There certainly is never a dull moment for our residents throughout our residential facilities in NSW and QLD.

This year we have already celebrated quite a few birthdays, but the standouts would have to go to our centenarians. At CWA House in Oakey we had Garnet’s 100th birthday. Residents and staff were treated to a “High Tea” in honour of Garnet’s amazing milestone of 100 years. It was wonderful to see our staff & residents donning their finest attire to join the celebrations.

Special guests on the day included friends of Garney, several members of the Oakey Defence Force and Oakey RSL Sub Branch President, Trevor Steinmuller. Garney had a smile on his face for the whole morning, as he enjoyed having conversations with the Defence Force members.

Mrs Mary Doring from Alkira in Gunnedah also turned 100 years. When we asked her what was her secret to reaching 100? According to Mrs Doring – “fix what you can and accept what you can’t!”
