Local charity ball successful sponsorship support

McLean Care is delighted to announce our sponsorship support for the Allawah Cottage Charity Ball on Saturday evening, 5th June 2021at the Gunnedah Town Hall.

Ms Sarah Wade, General Manager McLean Care Mackellar said “McLean Care is a not-for-profit, community focussed organisation, with a real, strong sense of community, especially when it comes to being the voice for people within our communities who do not always have a platform to do so. Although McLean Care’s focus is aged care, as members of the Gunnedah community, we fully support other local initiatives, especially when the more vulnerable of our community are involved.

With McLean Care only recently established in the Gunnedah area to provide residential aged care services and one of our objectives is to understand and spend time with the local community and getting involved in the things that are important to the people of Gunnedah. McLean Care is honoured to offer long term support to Allawah Cottage and congratulates Jobs Australia for their determination in providing this service.”

Allawah cottage provides crisis accommodation for Gunnedah women and children at risk of domestic violence to have a safe and supportive place to escape to at short notice. Getting out of a domestic violent situation can be hard enough. Knowing where you can escape to a safe and supportive ‘Home away from home’ for you, your children and your pets can be life changing.

Tracey Reid from Jobs Australia Enterprises, a key driver in the successful acquisition of the government grant to refurbish Allawah Cottage said “organisations like McLean Care makes a real difference for projects like Allawah Cottage. Now with their sponsorship support for the annual charity ball, we can make this event one that our Gunnedah Community will remember. The Charity Ball is being held to raise funds to support Allawah Cottage to provide crisis accommodation to women children and pets escaping domestic violence in Gunnedah region. Supporting an initiative like Allawah Cottage is important for the long term future of regional and rural communities that depend on services like this to be physically available, right here in our own town.

At McLean Care our mission is to be “Inspired by our community to focus on you” which aligns perfectly with Allawah Cottage and Jobs Australia’s values, said Sarah. Projects like Allawah Cottage need the support of organisations like McLean Care to ensure the ongoing delivery of their services day after day. To fund the continuing operation of the Allawah Cottage. Community members can get involved by either, providing products and services that can be included in the auction and raffles on the night, or purchase a ticket to the black tie charity evening on the 5th June.

Tickets are $100 per person and include a 3 course meal, entertainment, wine on arrival and schedule auctions and raffles. Money raised on the night will fund the installation of a double lock-up garage and on going cost of the house in the first year.
