McLean Care are pleased to announce the transfer of Mackellar Care Services Ltd to local aged care provider McLean Care. A unity of vision and purpose that unites both organisations and places MacKellar Care in a strong position to support the Gunnedah community into the future. People are at the heart of our organisation, said Sue Thomson, McLean Care CEO.

“Since 1991 Mackellar Care has had a long history of serving the Gunnedah Community with state-of-the-art facilities that have been refurbished over the last 5 years. However, faced with ongoing challenges including sector reforms, increasing costs of operating as a stand alone provider, the cost of complying with the new quality standards and now the challenges as the results of COVID 19, the Mackellar Board and myself have unanimously agreed this new unified organisation, under the guidance and leadership of McLean Care and its board, will ensure the future security of our resident, their families and staff” said Wayne Snelson – CEO MacKellar Care.

McLean Care is invested in providing quality regional and rural aged care. “As a not for profit organisation in regional and rural Australia, we are experienced in delivering quality aged care services within unique and challenging environments of operating in rural communities like Gunnedah. Our priority is in keeping seniors happy in their own communities, close to family and friends” said Sue Thomson.
The transfer will officially take place on 1st July and is a result of a very thorough due diligence process and six months discussions of two like minded organisations with a long established relationship that spans decades.
With the transition now underway, the people of the Gunnedah Community can be assured that they will continue to have access to quality aged care within their own community with the opportunity to access expanded services tailored to the communities unique needs.

McLean Care welcomes Mackellar Care residents into the McLean Care family and looks forward to providing them with quality, innovative and enriching aged care.
