Located in the agricultural region of Gunnedah NSW, the McLean Care Mackellar Residential Care facilities include two locations know as Apex Road and Alkira. Both environments provide complete serenity in seamless harmony with their surroundings. Our Gunnedah facilities provides many options to suit your individual aged care needs.

Apex Road

Apex Road includes low, high and dementia care areas. These are known as Lundie House, McAuley and Inala.
Lundie – 49 beds
McAuley – 14 beds
Inala – 16 beds

Alkira

The Alkira complex has 41 units comprising of single en suite rooms. Each room is a single occupancy unit. There are 5 sets of interconnecting rooms ideally suited for couples. 2 rooms are specifically designed to cater to high care/frail people. 1 room has a kitchenette facility and outdoor covered patio.

In the busy environment of the McLean Care®kitchen, we ensure that our staff have ready access to best practice nutrition information for all the special diet needs of our residents. 

The McLean Care® hospitality team focuses on the key areas of menu planning for a balanced diet and optimal nutrition that is enjoyable, catering to individual needs, understanding swallowing difficulties and modified food textures, the dining environment and social engagement, and resident independence, oral health, and food and nutrition for those living with dementia.
