Yallambee residential aged care home is a 60-bed facility situated in the rich agricultural area of the Condamine and Macintyre catchments, serving the community of Millmerran, QLD. Theresa has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare and aged care, with a strong leadership background spanning both public and private sectors. For the past 11 years she has served as a Facility Manager in aged care, guiding teams with compassion, integrity and a deep commitment to resident wellbeing. Prior to this, Theresa enjoyed a 20-year career as a Director of Nursing with Queensland Health, where she led clinical services across rural, provincial and metropolitan hospitals.
Theresa finds working in aged care incredibly rewarding and is passionate about the difference that quality care and meaningful engagement can make in residents’ lives. She believes every home has its unique strengths and challenges, and that keeping residents at the heart of every decision always leads to the best outcomes.
Theresa is particularly excited about the new national Aged Care Standards and the opportunities they bring to enrich the resident experience - especially in areas like resident choice and quality of food services.
