Alkira provides a peaceful and secure environment and comprises of 41 one bedroom units with ensuites that surround our large central activity/ lounge area and dining room.
Katrina has been the Facility Manager at Mackellar Alkira in Gunnedah for 4 years and residents love her. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing, furthering her commitment to providing exceptional care to older people. Katrina loves the warm, welcoming atmosphere at Alkira, where residents and the McLean Care team quickly form close, meaningful connections.
She finds it incredibly rewarding to work alongside like-minded people who share a passion for caring for older Australians. No day is ever the same in aged care, and she cherishes getting to know each resident as an individual - listening to their stories and learning about their lives. Katrina feels fortunate to work with such knowledgeable and passionate colleagues every day, which makes her role both enjoyable and fulfilling.

The Alkira aged care rooms feature wide doors, vinyl flooring, and easy access to the lounge, dining, activities areas, and gardens. Each room accommodates one person and includes electronic adjustable beds, bedside table, fitted wardrobe with lockable storage, and private ensuite with toilet, shower, vanity, and grab rails. Individually controlled reverse-cycle air-conditioning ensures comfort, making each space a warm and inviting home within Mackellar Alkira Residential Aged Care and McLean Care residential services.
