Alkira provides a peaceful and secure environment and comprises of 41 one bedroom units with ensuites that surround our large central activity/ lounge area and dining room.
Katrina has been the Facility Manager at Mackellar Alkira in Gunnedah for four years, and there’s no doubt she is adored by residents. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing, further demonstrating her commitment to providing high-quality care to older people. Katrina values the warm, welcoming atmosphere at Alkira, where residents and the McLean Care team quickly build close and meaningful connections.
She finds it incredibly rewarding to work alongside like-minded people who share a passion for caring for older Australians. With no two days ever the same, Katrina enjoys getting to know each resident as an individual—listening to their stories and learning about their lives. She feels fortunate to work with such knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues, making her role both fulfilling and enjoyable.

The Alkira aged care rooms feature wide doors, vinyl flooring, and easy access to the lounge, dining, activities areas, and gardens. Each room accommodates one person and includes electronic adjustable beds, bedside table, fitted wardrobe with lockable storage, and private ensuite with toilet, shower, vanity, and grab rails. Individually controlled reverse-cycle air-conditioning ensures comfort, making each space a warm and inviting home within Mackellar Alkira Residential Aged Care and McLean Care residential services.
