Home and Community Care Services Response to COVID-19

McLean Care continues to have no confirmed case of CVOID-19 in any of our facilities through QLD or NSW due to careful management and strict adherence to screening procedures for any person wishing to enter our facilities. This includes staff, visitors, and contractors..

Home and Community Care Services staff has the same level of infection prevention and control practices as residential facilities. As such our Home and Community Care staff are vital in ensuring COVID does not spread to vulnerable clients in the community. Our staff in Home and Community Care will wear face masks when delivering care in our client’s homes.  We undertake screening health checks on all of our clients before each service to check that they are well.

In response to the COVID-19 Lockdowns services are restricted until further notice. Staff must wear a mask whilst providing care.

We will continue to work closely with our valued clients to maintain the services required. We have a range of flexible options and will adapt services if and when needs change so services can change with the client’s wishes. For example, we can arrange a shopping service which can pick up much-needed items or scripts from the pharmacy. These can continue if people are required to self-isolate or prefer to stay at home. Clients can contact their coordinator to discuss.

Our home care clients or their families can help us by letting us know if they have recently been unwell, been in contact with someone who is unwell, have symptoms of respiratory illness (e.g. fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, or tiredness/exhaustion, or have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19). Please contact your coordinator.

We understand that our clients and their families will have concerns at this time, and we want to assure you that we are continuing to provide the best care and services to your loved ones.

Any person who fits the following criteria should not visit a client at home.
