Invitation to Join McLean Care’s Consumer Advisory Body

April 16, 2024 10:41 pm

In alignment with the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, McLean Care is excited to announce the formation of our Consumer Advisory Body. This initiative represents a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and safety of our care services.

We are currently inviting expressions of interest from individuals keen to contribute to the shaping of our care delivery by becoming members of the Consumer Advisory Body. This platform is an exceptional opportunity for you to collaborate closely with McLean Care, enabling us to leverage your insights and experiences to foster continuous improvement in our service offerings.

As a member, you will play a crucial role in voicing the perspectives and collective experiences of our consumers. It is vital to us that the Advisory Body is inclusive and mirrors the rich diversity of the McLean Care community.

The core function of the Consumer Advisory Body is to offer constructive feedback to our governing teams, to strengthen our person-centred environment to deliver the highest standards of safety and quality in aged care. Your contributions will directly influence how we uphold excellence in care and service, incorporating the valuable life skills, experiences, and perspectives of our consumers, their families, friends, and representatives.

The establishment of the Consumer Advisory Body reinforces our commitment to enhancing provider governance, in line with the Aged Care and Other Legislation Amendment (Royal Commission Response) Act 2022 and is aimed at bolstering accountability and transparency within the sector.

Topics within the Advisory Body will encompass various aspects of our service, including Food and Dining, Staff, Safety, Feedback and Complaints, and Activities and Recreation.

Selected nominees for the Consumer Advisory Body will be notified by May 3rd, with our inaugural meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th.

The Advisory Body will meet quarterly, and the information gathered from these meetings will provide invaluable assistance in identifying issues and sharing feedback based on your real-life experiences. Your Consumer Advisory Body insights will be reported through to our Board of Directors.
